Right now I’m struggling with the very thing I learnt in school. I guess it’s not my fault. I’m never one who paid attention in school and I am long out of touch with the sector. Thank god I know I can call Mandy dear to help me cos she’s full of experience. I can’t even remember if we learnt Amadeus or Abacus back in school. That’s how little an impression it left on me. Hahaha. Now you know why I’m not in the travel/ airline industry. Nvm, so that my cert doesn’t go to waste, I shall aim for the IR. Guess I wouldn’t mind MICE either so for all you shallow people out there, tourism doesn’t only = 导游.
I am so not cut out to be a 导游. I don’t like to entertain strangers, I don’t like traveling without my friends, I don’t like sleeping in a foreign place on my own, I do not like to baby a bunch of grown ups who makes life difficult for others and most of all, I have a problem curbing my temper so whichever company that hires me is bound to get a lot of complaints and eventually, I’ll be asked to leave. Haha.
Even though there’s many perks to the job as well, it’s not enough to supersede the cons. That’s just me I know. Not everyone is as difficult as me. Which is why I feel very strongly against the kind of money Mandy dear is bringing home. I think she deserves a lot more for all the things she has to go thru! I only have issues with how little this field is paying I guess. And I think one big reason why tour leading turns me off is because some Singaporeans can really be a bunch of selfish mutha-fuckers who think they own the world. Mandy is definitely more cut out for this job than me I swear. Patience of a saint. Mandy, happy or not? I pronounce you Saint Mandy today. Haha.
Anyway, its time to update what I did yesterday. Left work slightly early –sniggers- to head home to rest for awhile before heading down to Kathib to meet my darlings Mandy & Kailing. It was only yesterday on that long train ride that I realized other than taking the MRT to work on most mornings, I almost never take the MRT at any other time. And it was kinda torturous to me.
To start with, the waiting time was hell long; Morning trains arrive one after another. And along the journey, waves of different smells hit me. Non that’s really pleasant; All the office people smell really nice in the mornings. Then there’s the usual weird people on the trains which you almost never see in the mornings. I think I’m really jialat. And the worst part was, after going thru it all, everyone showed surprise that I took MRT to Kathib instead of cabbing there. Thanks for doubting me hor.
But once I reached Kathib, I’ve made up my mind that I had enough of public transport for the day so after going to New York Pizza to tapao food, I insisted we cab to Bottle Tree Park. When we got there, I felt so dumb cos it was really nearby. Because I’m so sua ku, I confused it with Bottle Tree Village which I heard was huge and deep in etc. Not only was it nearby, it was just beside the main road –faints- So much for my illusions of an exclusive and beautiful park. But no, I still don’t regret cabbing over. Haha.
And since we are on the topic of me being sua ku, my darling gave me a $20 plastic bill which I’ve never seen before. Haha.
Once we found a place to sit, all the food came out. Haha. And so did the drinks and ciggies. Then we just sat there and talked and talked until the guy told us they were closing and we had to leave, which was just as well cos I had spotted a trail of ants on our table and it made me damn gao wei.
Here's our food. Doesn't look too impressive but i thought it was pretty good. We forgot to include the you tiao in the pic!

I had a great time with my darlings even though I didn’t see a single bottle tree. Haha. The irony of it all. I saw palm trees though. I guess they do look somewhat like bottle trees.
We shall catch up again soon ok! I promise to try and work something out for our Sentosa outing. And we decided that instead of everything just potlucking randomly, its best that we do a list for everyone to choose from in case everyone comes with the same things. What a joke it’ll be if everyone came with drinks and chips. The ultimate choice of the lazies. Haha. I’m kidding. I won’t fault anyone who brings chips as being lazy lah!
I think Mandy will post the list on her blog so go check it out!
Once again, I am super sleepy today. I don’t even wanna say why. Let’s just say someone decided to wash + polish the car until the wee hours of the morning. After that then I had the chance to shower and wash my hair, after which we fell asleep pronto. And when we woke up while later, it was 2 hours to go before I had to get ready for work. Drove back to my place and tried to sleep as much as I can before I really had to get up, BUT tubs was snoring so loudly I swear the whole house could hear him, which also meant I couldn’t sleep at all. Best. Heng today is Friday. I need my sleep BUT I dun wanna sleep another weekend away also. Haha.
