I haven’t been blogging not cos I’ve been lazy, but bcos I’ve been very busy. I can’t believe it’s Christmas week oready. There isn’t much of a Christmas mood this year, especially when the weather has decided to go hot and scorching in the day. It’s like CNY weather, which I hate. The only saving grace for now is that the nights are still cool.
Once again I’m not gonna do much of a weekend update cos I can’t remember much. What I remember though is that Sunday was the winter solstice. It was at tub’s granny’s place in the afternoon, followed by my granny’s place in the evening. For the first time ever, grandma didn’t make any tang yuans. Without grandpa and at a different house, some things really do feel different. Anyway, grandma still cooked up a storm and it was damn shiok. Everyone was stuffed but what’s winter solstice without dumplings? So Mel and I went over to Parkway and bought a hell lot of dumplings back for everyone. We nearly bought all the dumplings that were available and halfway thru, they ran out of peanut soup so they replaced the remaining with cheng teng soup. As if the dinner and the dumplings weren’t enuff, there was oso a cake to celebrate the boy’s 18th birthday, which fell on the day before.
Speaking of which, tubs and I wanted to bring him drinking but tubs wasn’t feeling well so that was screwed. In the end, tubs and I dropped by Marcus’ place and it was one of the few times when I could drink till my heart’s content with tub’s uncles and aunties cos the bf’s tummy was too queasy to take any alcohol. We went JB later that nite for some kway chup, car wash, cigs and ILT. The Malaysia immigration looks so much better nw. It actually looks like Singapore’s now. Haha. It used to be dark, dingy and dirty but now it’s nice and bright and you can actually see the person chopping your passport. The touch and go card is a rip off though. It costs S$10, but only has RM10 in value. Well done. On the way back, we decided to go by second link due to a need for speed. I kinda miss the second link. Speaking of which, I miss the thrill of sitting on a speeding bike going by that link. And speaking of which, I dreamt of Rossi the other day. Haha!
It’s Christmas celebrations later today and I’m glad I’ve got my Christmas shopping done on time. This year was pretty last minute by my standards but it’s all settled. Phew. Not too many presents this year to give out but it‘s getting harder to think of what to buy. I really need to be in the mood when it comes to wrapping presents so those getting a present from me, please pardon me cos I've been really busy.
