This was a pretty good weekend, until now. *sigh* I’m so damn sian that my little red riding hood has failed me once again. But let me get to that in awhile and here’s recapping my weekend first.
Friday was dinner at Paramount to celebrate Grandma’s 80th birthday. It was ala carte buffet and Mel decided to keep track of how much we ate and just for our table (the older folks were seated at another table), it was 30+ ala carte dishes and 30+ servings of dessert. 30+ = close to 40. Haha. It didn’t help that each dish was huge. To get a breakdown for a clearer picture, a typical Chinese dinner is 10 course, eaten by 10 people. If we had 40 dishes (excluding dessert), it means we ate 4x a typical dinner. Insane, but nothing surprising for us. Haha. Good food knows no limit I guess.
After dinner, tubs sent Jeff & Cindy home and then we headed to Seletar East Camp to look for Mandy. I never knew there was such a happening drinking hole hidden in such an ulu place lah. Didn’t stay too long though and then the 3 of us headed to Yishun dam to slack and wait for James to come join us. Stayed til pretty late before heading home and Mandy had to work in just afew more hours. Haha. Respect.
Saturday was a super lazy day, especially for tubs. Basically it was lots of eating and sleeping and eating some more and sleeping even more. Watched He’s Just Not That Into You at Cathay around midnite and I thought the show was just ok. Met Jes below her block to slack after that but not before tubs and I spent a hell lot of time driving from place to place, looking for a Macs drive-thru to buy brekkie, cos the 2 nearest drive-thrus are ECP and Kallang and both roads were closed for the OCBC Cycle Singapore. We ended up back at Siglap to grab some morning grub.
Sunday, went Vivo in the afternoon to search for a present for a dear friend’s upcoming birthday. Saw something but ended up not buying cos I wanted to sit on the idea first. Went to Granny’s for dinner and it seems like Friday’s celebration wasn’t over yet. Grandma’s birthday = noodles & 糖水. Yum yum. And because Mel went JB earlier in the day, she got me my fave Malaysia Season’s ILT and some snacks. Triple yum! I finally bought my Indofood mee goreng. I’ve been craving for it like mad after eating it at Cat’s place awhile back. So tubs and I had that for supper, and we opened a can of top shell as side dish. Haha. I’m alright with top shell but never a huge fan but the one we ate ( I think it’s New Moon brand from the CNY hampers) was really good. We just heated it up and ate it on it’s own and boy was it good.
Tubs took leave on
Monday so in the morning we went Vicom to see what was wrong with his car’s IU. Went to Vivo later in the afternoon and I settled the present buying and also did some shopping myself. Much needed retail therapy I say. After that was when all the drama happened. I shall not go into detail but basically the car’s battery died on me and after much drama, it was towed to the workshop to get the battery replaced, but not only did this whole thing cost me a hell lot of money, other problems came up suddenly which I’ll have to let the service centre check out at another time. I was so upset about it that tubs brought me for supper, hoping I’ll feel better after smoking til my heart’s content but I had no appetite at all even though the ciggies did me much good. Thank god tubs was there through all the car shit. I hate it when the car gives me problems. The poor boy must be tired as hell now but I still can’t sleep so I guess I’ll just use the com til it’s time to wake him up for work.
Here’s some overdue pictures from Elvin’s cam which I finally got. But better late then never eh.

Thank god I am suffering from insomnia. Cos I decided try out the recipe given by Bryan and made truffles at 3 in the morning once I got back home.
Haha. I hope it turns out fine though, cos the whipping cream was bought first thing when I left my house which was around dinner time, and it’s supposed to be kept refrigerated but I forgot all about it and it sat in my car for about 8 hours. Haha! I’m crossing my fingers they don’t turn out funky. It’s a really easy recipe BUT they have to sit in the fridge after the first part is completed for about 2 to 3 hours before I can do anything else to them, therefore by the time I actually complete everything, I may be able to see the beautiful sunrise over here in eastern Singapore. Yes, I’m being sarcastic.. I do not like the sun very much at all. So in the meantime, I have to find things to keep me occupied so I’m multitasking by doing my nails, and in continuation to all the sappy love movies I‘ve been watching, today's pick is When Harry Met Sally.
The anticipation to see my finished product is killing me!
-----------------------------------------------------------
Looks like I don’t have much self control. Before Harry could meet Sally, which was about an hour after I put my masterpiece into the fridge, I decided to go check on it and I decided they were ready to be dusted by cocoa powder. Haha. This part wasn’t fun at all and the kitchen was quite a mess at the end of it all. I am very contented that I have finished making my truffles, but don’t ask me how it tastes cos I didn’t try it. Honestly, I only had the kick to make it, not eat it. Haha. That’s the problem with me.. After I make/cook/bake/fill-in-the-blank something, I’m not interested to eat it anymore. But I’m a happy girl now! Ta Dah!!
Not the prettiest things, but truffles were never meant to look pretty.. They are just supposed to taste orgasmic. Haha.

I’m running on empty.. And I feel like I’m falling ill, no thanks to the mother. I shall not go into details cos it’s just gonna make me more pek chek again. But sometimes, she’s really too much. Like waking me up after I had only about 2 hours of sleep, and making me follow her to places where she could easily go on her own, and pushing her luck by asking me to accompany her to a friend’s house for her to do her flower arrangement (which she got a flat ‘no way‘ for an answer). We went to do something which probably needs just 2 hours max, but ended up being out for 5 hours, no thanks to her driving at 50km/hr on the expressway and taking her own sweet time passing something to grandma while I waited for her in the carpark. Who in the world leaves someone in a car with the engine off in the sweltering heat for such a long time.. I was really close to killing her. Of course I didn’t hesitate turning on the aircon and tried to nap for the half an hour or so that I waited for her. If I hadn’t done that, I was quite sure I would have driven home without her, then she can spend all the time she wants there to chit chat. She REALLY needs to learn how to use the damn GPS or learn how to read a street directory or find her own way around. Sometimes it’s not that places are so hard to get to. From here to get to NUH and back is idiot proof. She just doesn’t bother finding out first and just expects me to be there for her and run around with her as and when. Bloody shit.
Anyway, meeting my lovelies for dinner at nite was a good way to relieve my anger and what-not. We went to Mr Bean @ Selegie for a belated Valentine’s Day dinner (but we all know it’s just an excuse for us to meet up again). The weather has been a bitch but it was fine there so I was quite pleasantly surprised. Presents again!
Yum yum! And Bryan made some real good truffles for us to try. Bryan! Send me the recipe can? Hehe.
So just from these 2 paragraphs, you can tell what makes me cranky (bad driving, lack of sleep, the bloody heat/sun) and what makes me happy (my lovelies, chocolates, cooling weather). Another thing which makes me happy is sappy love movies (which I have been watching a lot of online) and also Two and a Half Men, which they are showing at nite on TV.

Love is something in a carefully wrapped little blue box
Love is a thoughtfully planned romantic dinner
Love is everyday but using 14th Feb to indulge
Love is you always being there for me, one way or another
Love is you telling me love me every single day
Love is you never failing to hug me to sleep
Love is you whipping up the yummiest food ever for me
Love is sunshine after the rain
Love is you and me
And words can never do enough justice to the love we share
I love you darls~
Valentine’s Day started early for me. 2 days early to be exact. Lunched with my bitches on Thursday afternoon and got my nails done. In the evening, I met my darling girls, Jes & Rach for dinner and drinks at Punggol Park and we exchanged presents. After that, we headed back to Rach’s place where tubs and Ah Boy joined us for some cake. I love the presents and I love my girls even more! Hope they liked what I got them. Hehe.
Spent Friday afternoon lazing in bed, and George Clooney was on Ellen show and he is one yummy guy I can never get enough of. *Slurps* In the evening, tubs & I headed over to The Cathay to watch ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. To think we got great seats cos it was booked online the nite before.. We were quite wrong cos the couple sitting beside us were irritating as hell man. I had actually watched the movie online oready but since tubs wanted to watch it, it was round 2 for me. I didn’t mind it though, it was a pretty good show.
Went home after the movie then we decided to take a walk so we went to ECP to walk around abit then we sat somewhere just to talk. It was 4+ in the morning before we knew it so we decided to call it a day.
Woke up on Saturday afternoon and decided to order in some food. Victor was raving about Arnold’s Fried Chicken so we decided to give it a try but I gotta say I still prefer KFC. In the evening, tubs brought me to Rochester Park and we had dinner at Graze. The whole Rochester park was done up just for Valentine’s day. There were trishaw rides, free roses, free Polaroid shots, free fortune telling, Chinese calligraphy etc. The ambience at Graze was wonderful. Very romantic, wonderful service and great food. They even take free photos for you and offer to send it to your email.
Here are some pictures I stole online of the place cos I didn't take that many photos that day. This is Graze, without all the VDay decor.
Here's a sneak at our first dish, and our last dish.
Oysters of Passion - Tempura fried oyster with wasabi mayonnaise, Natural oyster with red wine and shallot vinegar dressing, Oyster shooter with ginger wine and cucumber oil.
Dessert Platter - It consists of the items on their dessert menu, sample size but it really came up to quite a huge portion which we had fun trying and then finishing.
That's about all the photos. The rest are for my eyes only. Haha.
I had a great Valentine’s Day and I’m looking forward to meeting my lovelies tomorrow!

Before I know it, CNY is over! Today’s the last day of CNY to be exact. It’s funny how this year, I barely did any visiting and seemed to have collected a lot less ang pows than previous years but when I was counting money to deposit, I was shocked at how much money I had collected. Weird. But I’m not complaining of course. Haha.
Friday田鸡粥 for dinner! I can never get enuff of the one at Dunman. Slacked near Jes’s house with her until tubs had concussed and then headed home for the big baby to get some sleep.
SaturdayPS to meet Mel and Yijun to check some stuff out and then tubs and I headed over to taka to walk around abit and bumped into Regina. The last time I saw her was at taka too but that was a few years ago oready. Time to catch up with that stupid bitch soon. Haha.
Dropped by Cat’s place for baby Matthew’s 1 month celebration. By the time we went down, celebration was over oready but I didn’t mind. Just the few of us and Jes and tubs was happy to see leftover food from earlier in the day. Stayed til it was time for us to catch The Curious Case of Benjamin Button at Filmgarde and I did not know the movie was 3 hours long. I enjoyed the movie even though sitting for so long made me really fidgety. It also didn’t help that I really had to take a leak.
After the movie was over, we went Simpang Bedok with Victor for supper and the guys can really eat man.. The 3 of us whacked 3 chicken wings set = 1 chicken wing for me, 4 for tubs, and 4 for Victor. -faints-
Sunday
Went Granny’s house for a feast yet again to celebrate the last day of CNY which is the next day but for convenience sake, it was held today. After we had our fill, we went down to Peiyi’s chalet to celebrate Valerie’s 1 year birthday. It’s been 1 year since I last saw Peiyi and Suleen so it was great catching up with them. We were the ‘pioneer batch’ that was not meant to be but we still kept in touch. These are 2 girls I don’t contact very often but there’s just an unspoken bond between us. I can’t wait to meet up with them again and it was great seeing how much Peiyi’s kids have grown. Stayed there til around midnite and then tubs decided to go for XDL.
When we got there, saw Jane’s car parked in front of XDL but I figured she was there playing game. XDL looked like they were ready to close even though they were supposed to remain open for another hour or so but we ended up eating there and we over-ordered cos we were told at first to order everything at a go. Quite a lot of food we ordered never came (which is typical of XDL) but just was well lah, cos it didn’t take us long to be really stuffed. By the time we were almost done, we saw Jane and Dennis who were leaving so we went Simpang Bedok for coffee. Tubs was determined not to sleep so after we left Simpang, we went home to look for cars online and I saw a car I really liked but 5% interest rate is just too much lah. Sent tubs to work in the morning and after I came back, it was bed time for me.
That’s about all for my weekend I guess. This Saturday is Valentine’s Day oready. But apart from Saturday with tubs, I have 2 other Valentine’s dinner planned with my lovelies and also with Jes & Rachel. I can’t wait! It’s not hard to see which are the friends that loves me eh. Hehe.

Here's wishing everyone a very good morning and a great start to your day!
I can't sleep. I'm feeling greedy. I want macs brekkie. And the people on MSN are telling me 'you better go order now before it's too late!'. Yeah.. people.. not friends.. cos friends would ask me to go try get some sleep. Haha. I think last nite's supper is still in my tummy so i shall not add on any more food to it. I just finished watching Bride Wars online. Maybe I'll find another show to watch. Or maybe I'll try to force myself to sleep but I know 勉强是没有幸福的. Hahaha. Sebei chim hor.

I have been PMSing, but tubs has been PMSing worse than me. Haha. I’m not kidding.
Friday, dinner at Dunman. Oh how I love my 田鸡粥. After that, we went to meet Wayne and Alex to test out the car’s sound system and then we followed Wayne to eat and boy was his gf in a bad mood. Haha.
Saturday, went to tub’s house in the afternoon to 拜年. I know I’m terrible, I didn’t go over to tub’s until almost 1 week into CNY. But it’s not completely my fault either I swear. I shall leave the details out. Anyway after that, we went to Mandy’s place to 拜年. Some ban luck later, they rest of them played MJ while I watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua. I love dogs but I really do not like Chihuahuas. They are not what a dog should look like at all. Some people think they look like overgrown rats, but I’m sure a lot of rats are fatter and bigger than the damn dog and I’m sure rats don’t have their eye balls pop out halfway out of their faces.
Anyway, after Mandy’s place, together with Kailing, Bjorn and Bryan, we went to Thomson wanting to eat prata but it was full house so we ended up eating teochew porridge instead. Met Jes after that and we slacked at Simpang Bedok til late. We were just saying, thank god for Simpang Bedok. They have a wide variety of cheap and good food, abundant smoking seats, open til real late, and the friendliest servers (in fact, Jes and I are such regulars that the servers there recognise us enuff to pop by for a chat every time we go over. Haha)
Sunday, woke up to mee siam, popiah, 鱼生 and 3 cakes at tub’s house. Even though Sunday was 人日 which was considered everybody’s birthday, but the uncles and grand folks were over to celebrate Tricia’s, tub’s uncle’s and the maid’s birthday, therefore 3 cakes. Straight after lunch, tubs went back to sleep and only woke up when it was time to go to my granny’s. Thank god for PSP cos his TV was the same as him - dead to the world. It was a feast at granny’s after that. Omg I can’t even begin to describe dinner. The spread was as sumptuous as it can get. What a way to celebrate our ‘birthday’. Yummers. It was also my 4th 鱼生 this CNY and I gotta say the final one was the yummiest one. Every year they order the same 鱼生 and it never fails to impress me, considering it’s not my favourite food at all. And every year, we always add raw salmon to it. Haha.
Meeting with tubs, Mel, Yijun and Chan at our usual place. Plans are in motion but the anticipation is killing me! May our patience pay off in time to come. Huat ah!
Anyhow, it’s Valentine’s Day next Saturday. I wouldn’t mind a pair of Manolo Blahniks or a Christian Louboutin. Hahaha.
