10 April - Friday
Good Friday! Public holidays are oways nice. But instead of going to church, we had to wake up bright and early to head down to Mandai for Qing Ming. It’s been a long time since I last went to visit grandpa. The jam there was BAD. The heat there was even worse. After we were done, it was lunch at the old skool restaurant nearby which grandpa loved. Food was good and the place was air-conditioned but I was still so hot that I didn’t have any appetite at all.
Later that night, it was Punggol Park to meet my bitches and the BFs for Jane’s big 26. Haha. Even though it was just a simple dinner, I hope Janey had a good time.
Chix left after dinner so the rest of us hung around abit more before dropping by a petrol kiosk to buy snacks, drinks and such and slacked at the lobby at my place and before we knew it, it was damn late oready. Or more like early in the morning. Hur hur. I hope she liked the present I gave her. Haha. It’s as useful as a rubber duckie can get.
11 April - Saturday
Feeling the heat of not being packed and totally not ready for the trip. Ran around pretty much most part of the day, waking up early in the morning for an appointment only to find out I’ve been played out, going last minute trip shopping for sunblock etc, getting my nails done, going to Bryan’s place to get some info and maps, finding a replacement for my morning appointment, it taking a long time to be done, then it was to An’s place for MJ session til morning. *yawn*
12 April - Sunday to 16 April - Thursday
Bali Trip!
I think I’m not gonna blog much about Bali for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, Mandy’s Bali post is as detailed as it can get oready. So go read her blog instead! Haha.
Secondly, Bali fotos are part of a little gift for tubs so I shall not post any photos here before he can get his present.
Thirdly, I’m kinda lazy and have mixed emotions about this trip. I went with people I love, there were many reasons that would make me wanna return, but there were oso hiccups along the way - bad service at a restaurant, con men at a money changer, touting everywhere, scary hotel rooms etc etc etc.
But here’s just some of the photos.
- Our vices
- The pool at our hotel rooms' doorsteps.
S'Cape Condotel @ Sanur
All Seasons Legian @ Legian, taken at 6am
- The beaches
Sanur Beach Nusa Dua Beach
Kuta Beach
Legian Beach
Ok that's about it. Haha.
And while we were there, there were 2 birthdays-
Aunty Corina’s birthday on the 12th~
My bitch Jane’s birthday on the 13th~
17 April - Friday
At night, together with Chan and Jes, tubs decided to go across the causeway for some bloody shiok zhi char for dinner. After years of going to that particular place to eat, it’s still as good. It was damn shiok man. Piping hot and cooked to perfection. After that was tub’s regular car wash before heading back to Singapore.
The jam to and fro took so long that by the time we got back, it was about 4am oready. -faint-
18 April - Saturday
Somethings you can never get enuff of. Even though tubs and I had TJZ just before we left for Bali, and Bali was only for a couple of days, but it felt like forever since we last had it so once again, we went and satisfied our craving. This was the pretty sky that greeted us once we parked the car.
After dinner, we dropped by tub’s grand folks’ house to visit them and his uncle and aunty were there as well so after chatting for awhile and promising that we‘ll drop by their house after we were done, we headed to Mandy’s godfather’s wake. I hope my babe and everyone in the family is feeling better. A death is never easy but time definitely helps ease the pain.
After the wake, as promised, we headed to tub’s aunty’s house which was really near Mandy’s place and it was drinking, smoking and chatting the night away. It’s really a wonder where these older folks get all their energy from.
19 April - Sunday
Went with tubs and my girls to Bessie’s daughter’s 1 month celebration. Baby Shania was so cute and very well-behaved even with all the fuss going on around her. It was like a mini mummy’s club at Bessie’s house man. So many babies around. Haha.
If 1 full month celebration wasn’t enuff, someone closer to home was celebrating her full month too at granny‘s house when we went over for dinner! Baby Ellie was a bundle of joy as well and somehow her older brother seemed to be better behaved, now that there’s some serious competition for attention.
At nite after we got home, tubs and I watched ‘Taken’ on DVD. I thought it was quite a good show. Fast-moving throughout which was a good thing if not I would have fallen asleep considering how tired I was.
20 April - MondayTubs left early in the morning for his reservist. It seemed like forever since I last saw him in army uniform. Anyway, the family brought Laura to RTC for dinner at the Dining Room.
I do feel quite bad that even though she’s been staying at our place for quite awhile, I haven’t been around much to entertain her simply because our waking/ sleeping hours are pretty different, plus I have been in Bali for the past week. She’s leaving in about 2 days’ time so we’ve got another dinner planned with her the next day. She’s really a nice woman but she’s just a little particular about some things and sometimes I really can’t figure if she’s speaking English or German. Yeah, at times it’s kinda hard to understand her, therefore the minimum conversation. Haha.
21 April - Tuesday
Dinner was at Ricciotti~ (Minus the asshole this time round *cheers*) Laura loves Italian food and I love the pizza and dessert at Ricciotti so I guess it wasn’t a hard decision. Dad went by Mandy dear’s office so I could pass her my Bali pictures and then it was dinner time! Tuesdays are 1-for-1 Pizza days at Ricciotti. Yum yum~ I was near puking at the end of dinner. Other than sharing 2 pizzas, we had set meals which consisted of appetizer, main, dessert and coffee/tea.
Tubs could book out so he came to pick me up. That night, he was so tired but still wanted to talk so I recorded a 17min sound clip of him talking rubbish which was damn funny. Haha.
22 April - Wednesday
The family had one last dinner with Laura at Connie's and the mother just had to piss me off. I think it’s been too long since she last spoke to me cos she was busy gallivanting in the day, entertaining Laura when she’s here, and me being away during my Bali trip. Just a simple dinner, just a couple of minutes, she just had to find trouble with me. I was oready pissed with her last nite so today I was having a hard time keeping it in but because Laura was there, I held back just a abit more, but I’m sure she got my hint. She’s a really stubborn woman. And a trouble maker. And a real hypocrite. And thinks too highly of herself. And oways feels she’s right. And she’s as insensitive as a person can be. And when such a person is stuck in stone age times, there’s only so much I can do before I throttle her to death.
It's a good thing that the pretty sunset outside my window made me feel abit better.
