Friday night on the way to tub’s place, there was an accident at a junction somewhere in Bedok. I happened to be first in line at the traffic light while waiting for it to turn green, which makes me one of the few to see the accident, and to hear the sick thud. I didn’t exactly see how it happened because all I was doing was waiting to move off once the lights changed. All I knew was that there was a honk, a screech, a bang, a thud and a crack and I saw a guy lying on the road in front of the taxi which was on my right. I think everyone who saw it was stunned. I know I was stunned beyond words. I didn’t even know whether to call an ambulance straight or get out of the car and see if he’s ok. But because he didn’t move at first, I didn’t dare get out of the car. And after what seemed like eternity, the taxi uncle and afew guys from I dunno where got out of their vehicles to see if the guy was fine. Thank god for his helmet cos I think that was the cracking sound and not his head. But it’s funny that they just helped him up to one side. What if he had internal injuries or had some part of his body broken? Anyway, this had caused a major jam cos it happened somewhere in the middle of the cross junction so once he seemed ok, I drove off. At that moment, the last thing I wanted to do was to drive. But there wasn’t much I could do about it I guess. My hands were shaking the entire way to tub’s house man. This was really terrible. One thing I can never get used to is accidents. I’ve seen my fair share of accidents, I’ve had friends die or get badly injured from accidents, and every time it really scares me. And this is why I don’t want to sit/ ride a bike anymore unless absolutely necessary. The passion for bike still pops up once in awhile, but that’s not the way I wanna die.
Anyway, after I got to tub’s house, it was off to JB for dinner with Chan. It’s nice sometimes to go to JB, but I was never a big fan of Malaysia, and sometimes, going there just to eat can be quite bo liao cos all in all, it takes up quite abit of time and by the time you’re back in Singapore, the night is over just like that. It doesn’t help that there is one guy who is sleeping most of the way cos he’s so tired, one girl who is still traumatized by the accident she witnessed earlier on, and a driver who just wants to talk about how another one of his fishes died cos it’s eyeballs got eaten up. So yup, that was all for Friday.
Saturday evening, went to a fish shop at Clementi so tubs could buy some plants, rocks and sucker fish for his aquarium. Went back to his place to put all these in, sat there watching what’s left of the silly fishes, then we went for our first and last meal of the day - XDL. Haha. The chilli this time was out of this world man. It was so damn spicy I could feel my heart beating unnaturally fast and I think tubs easily ordered 3 cans of coke cos of how spicy it was. We didn’t eat too much though. I think we eat here so often that we don’t see XDL as buffet anymore. We just see it as just another other meal so we don’t overdo the intake. Hahaha.
Having smoking seats is always a fab idea cos we can just take our time slacking there, having some ciggies while waiting for time to pass before heading to The Cathay to watch Night at the Museum 2. I enjoyed the first one, and I think this one was good too. It’s just a nice brainless movie, full of laughs, full of action and full of the impossible. I guess it was a pretty good night other than the fact that there was a very irritating couple sitting behind us. They were talking loudly throughout, they kept nudging our chairs, and at one point, the stupid uncouth China lady had her feet on my arm rest which I fucking jabbed with my elbow and turned around to give her a stare and I was really close to emptying my cup of ILT on her followed by my popcorn. Tubs was terribly annoyed by them too. There are subtitles so I can’t understand why she just can’t shut her gab and watch the damn show and does she have no noise control at all? It’s like she’s talking to 3 rows of people instead of to just that one guy beside her which she stuck to like a leech. Geesh.
Didn’t sleep at all cos Sunday was more planned and there didn’t seem to be too much time to fit everything in so I couldn’t afford to wake up only in the late afternoon or something. Bad choice. I was so damn stoned the whole day. Started off heading to Bedok to tapao lunch for tub’s grandparents and ourselves and while waiting in the car for tubs, I started feel ill cos of my lack of sleep, plus the sun outside was mad and the temperature in the car was half hot half cold. After he came back to the car at least half an hour later, he had only managed to buy 4 bowls of dessert - Cheng Teng. Wow. Where’s lunch? He said the queue was too long. -faints- So he got his grandma to cook instead and we headed over for lunch. Stayed there til around 4pm and then we headed to Pasir Ris Farm in search of some shrimps. Haha. I got sucked into rearing marine animals too but I hate jumpy fishes so I decided to go the shrimp way. I’m pretty amateurish when it comes to shrimp so I bought just 5 shrimps as guinea pigs together with a small tank and what nots. Went to quite a few farms and most of them didn’t sell any shrimps at all so I wasn’t left with much choice I guess. Went home, set up my tank, and left my shrimps still in their bag floating in the tank. Rushed down to granny’s house to avoid being late again and today’s dinner was shiok man. Yum yum! Took a walk after dinner to Sam Yick and ended up buying 5 more shrimps. I’m surprised it’s cheaper at Sam Yick though. Went home after that and put all the shrimps into the tank. They are so tiny lah. Really gotta look out for them. Not long after they settled into the tank, 2 shrimps started laying eggs or giving birth or something. They just started releasing these larvae-like stuff into the water but they are so tiny they look like dust particles or something but you know they are the babies cos they keep twitching in the water. I hope they survive though. This is pretty interesting. Haha. If they do, I guess I’ll be able to see them more clearly by next week. And if everyone is still alive and thriving by next week, then I shall think about investing on the more expensive shrimps which are so pretty and bright. Hur hur.
Woke up this afternoon to find 1 shrimp dead. I think my aircon is too cold for them. Haha.
