This is a grossly overdue post that is from last week to this week. All because I didn’t realise I saved it as draft instead of posting it. So here goes.
TUESDAY
The boy has finally entered NS. Tuesday morning to be exact and I have a feeling he’s gonna have it easy cos most of the people there are… well.. relaxed. Haha. I shall elaborate no more because it’ll just sound very offensive to certain groups of people. Enlist on Tuesday, Friday can come out oready. It’s like going for a chalet man.
Anyway, dropped by parkway on Tuesday afternoon for a short while to get some stuff, came home, rested for awhile, and then it was time to get ready to meet Rach at Bugis. Yup, steamboat time again. I barely ate cos not only was I not in the mood for steamboat, I really don’t fancy Tian Tian. We sat outside cos they had the table BBQ as well and midway during dinner, a couple sitting 2 tables away from us somehow manage to catch theirs on fire and the smoke was so much we went to stand by the road while waiting for it to clear. Because of one table, the entire street was filled with black smoke. So clever. Anyway after the very waste-money steamboat, we went to the next street for Tong Shui’s dessert. At least that was satisfying for me. It’s been ages since I last went to Tong Shui man.
WEDNESDAY
On Wednesday, met up with Jane in the afternoon and we went to town. We took a bus to town. And a stupid Indian lady stood so close to where we were sitting that her armpits were as good as in our faces. I can’t understand how some people can be so disgusting. It didn’t help that the bus driver was quite terrible and Jane and I nearly passed out on the bus. But we finally reached our destination and we’ve never been happier. I tried going around looking for a turkey baster and nobody at all knew what it was. I know we don’t cook turkey on a regular basis but to not have heard it ever was quite shocking. Some thought it was a joke, some didn’t have any idea even after me describing it. And I purposely went to places like Paragon’s Market Place etc. But I resigned to fate that nobody was gonna undetsand me at all and so the shopping began. And everywhere was having SALE. It’s a good word. But it’s also a word many other people like. And one word I don’t like is CROWD. And Jane nearly bought a Gucci bag which was on sale. To me paying more than 1k less than the original price is quite a substantial amount oready but thank goodness I didn’t see anything that I fancied. Haha. As we moved on, I saw a bag at Miu Miu. It’s a very simple and casual looking bag, but I like. I went to enquire how much it costs, and I was given a price which was pretty tempting to me. But we decided to sit on it first cos we would really hate to blow such money on an impulse buy. But I have a strong feeling I‘ll get mine anytime oready. Haha. Irresistible. even though it wasn’t a sale item, but I still thought the price was pretty ok. It wasn’t a good idea to have spotted the bags first thing into going shopping. Cos for the rest of the day, we couldn’t think about anything else but the bags. But I still managed to buy a jacket and shoes. I like what I bought but still no satisfaction. *sigh*
Chix met us after we were done shopping and off to Bugis it was for supper at XDL. Thank god I didn’t eat the entire day and I barely ate Tian Tian the day before therefore I could still eat normally at XDL. If not I would have puked into the pot. Tubs came to join us after awhile and after we had our fill, I went to collect something on the way before we went for Macs drive thru for some ice cream cone, thinking it’ll make us feel better but I guess we were wrong. Tubs was the only one that finished his ice cream lah. Anyway, I got home and found that mummy shrimp has given birth and that other than the shrimps, I have many other gross stuff living in my tank. Urgh.

THURSDAY
Somehow, I have no recollection of Thursday at all. Totally. It’s like I skipped one day of the week. Die lah. This is not good. Haha.
FRIDAY
Met Rach in the day and we went to Parkway for lunch and to walk around. It’s so shiok just to take your time strolling around on a weekday afternoon lah. Went with her to check out some baby stuff and everything was really expensive man. Giving birth is really quite heavy on the pocket. I’ll rather keep a dog. Haha. We slacked at Macs while waiting for Jes to come down to join us after she was done with work and I decided to give Miu Miu a call cos I still wanted the bag real bad. A nice lady answered the fone, and she quoted me a price which was even higher than the one I got the other day. I was pretty shocked at the price increase but because I was so set on getting it oready, I just got her to reserve it for me first so I could go down and get it another day. After Jes reached, we went to Roxy for dinner and I couldn’t bring myself to eat anything cos what I usually eat there is as good as steamboat, and the girls ordered steamboat. Omg. Everyone goes Roxy for their steamboat and I don’t quite understand why. I don’t think it’s good and it’s damn expensive. I’ll stick to my ban mian over there. And during dinner, I got a very unexpected call from someone I haven’t seen or spoke to in a long time. Haha. Unfortunately, my Friday night was planned oready so I guess I’ll have to catch up with this friend another time then.
After that, tubs came to join us for dinner and then we went off to The Cathay for our movie that he had booked for in the day. And when we reached there, we were told the movie was at Cineleisure and not at The Cathay. And at that time, the movie had just started so even if we had rushed down, we were bound to miss part of the show. So we went down to Cine and changed the timing for the show. Haha. Lucky we could change the time if not I would have been really pissed cos I hate cock ups.
Anyway, we watched Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and the both of us really enjoyed the show. I was quite surprised he actually liked the show so much, and I was surprised that I liked the show as much as I did. Haha. Such shows are very predictable but it was still enjoyable throughout and the last part was really touching.
SATURDAY
Broke my thumb nail in the car on the way to town and it was so damn painful I nearly fainted and even tubs got a shock when he saw that all the blood had drained from my face. The pain was so bad I that I went cold all over and I lost all strength in my hand and I could feel the my thumb throbbing. And I had to force myself to push it down so it’ll be steady and we walked to Paragon to buy plaster with my nail bleeding the entire time. It looked like some freak accident man. That’s what happens when I skip my manicure sessions one too many times.
Went to Paragon cos I just had to get my bag.
Jane and Dennis were there too and when I met up with Jane, she told me she had helped me ask about my bag and they told her a completely different price from what I was told the first 2 times. WTF. It doesn’t make sense that 3 enquires over a span of afew days, the price keeps going up right. I was so pissed that I went in and found someone who looks like a manager and asked him for the price. And he quoted me the price which Jane had just told me. So I told him about my first 2 phone calls and I think I looked significantly pissed enough, therefore he went to ‘double check’ and it was the price I got when I called to reserve it. I think this is absolute bullshit. Quoting me so many different prices like they run a Pasar Malam or something. Is it so hard to REALLY go check the damn price instead of just throwing me a figure and acting so sure about it? I bloody regret not getting the bag on Wednesday cos when I do go make payment, I’m gonna make sure I pay what I was quoted. If there wasn’t just one Miu Miu here, I would have gone to another one without a shout of a doubt. To think people who work for such boutiques would deliver a better service. Ha. I really wonder what goes through their mind while at work. Do they try to imagine that they own the brand, therefore they have to be hoity toity? My gawd. If you are the damn salesperson, then act like one. Come back down to earth and serve the customers like you should, dammit. But I had nothing but great service from the rest of the shops which made me feel like not all the sales people are like that. Every shop greeted tubs and I, and the lady at Jimmy Choo was extra accommodating. And then when we went into Gucci, I kinda realized why oready. They look at the paper bag which you are carrying. And mine happened to be a very huge Miu Miu paper bag. And I only realized this when a very non discreet staff at Gucci asked his female colleague what brand was my paper bag and then attitude changed right that instant. Which was one of the reasons why tubs had a field day trying on the belts and the shoes there and with someone always nearby to serve him.

Bryan celebrated his birthday at Ascott Raffles and the place was really nice lah. The only thing was that by the time we reached, it was oready pretty crowded so I decided not to explore the entire suite but all I know was that the bed was uber comfy and the toilet was so shiok that I could have stayed there the entire night. Hope Bryan had fun and it’s great that he loves the present we got him. I think it’s damn nice too lah. Haha. He got high pretty early so photos of him all made him look like a baked lobster. Hur hur. But it was a great party and Yuan, I want the recipe for the pasta/ fondue sauce please! Yums~

After we all left the party, we decided to head over to JB for some kway chup so we went home to change into more casual clothes and to grab our passports before meeting up with Mandy and James again. The weather was so cold but I like. Haha. It beats hot and humid weather anytime man. After we were done eating, the guys decided to go for a car wash and James polished his car as well. We were told it would take an hour but I think it took around 3 hours or something cos by the time we left, it was 6am. Haha.
SUNDAY
Woke up early just to go Toa Payoh for beef noodles. Yum yum! The queue was so long but this is something really worth waiting for. And I think we were very lucky because not long after we got our food, they had oready ran out of food to sell and had to close for the day. Went back after lunch cos the weather was so horrible, slacked in the comfort of an aircon room and at 6pm when it wasn’t so hot anymore, we went to Pierce Reservoir and see if we can catch anything. Hahaha. The place is so packed with kids and their parents trying to catch fish. Tubs and I found a spot, and started on our mission. And all we had among the both of us was a small net and a small Tupperware. Haha. And at the shallow side near the rocks, we just took turns to try our luck at catching some small prawns. We didn’t stay too long though cos it was getting dark very quickly but we had around 6 prawns which we brought back and put into his tank with the puffers. The puffers could be bothered at first and then the fun began. It was damn entertaining to watch the prawn and the fish attack each other and before you know it, the prawn has been bitten into half but the pincers are still pinching the puffer. Very violent, but very shiok to watch. Hur hur.
Met up with Jes later at night for a very late dinner and to propose some ideas to her for the upcoming weekend. I shall not disclose anything. It’s her surprise. Before we knew it, it was pretty late oready so back home we went and tubs KOed immediately and even though I felt tired, I decided I better not sleep yet and wait until it was time for me to wake him up for work cos it wouldn’t be good if we woke up and realized it was afternoon oready. Imagine the shit he’ll get from office. Haha.
MONDAY
It is the start of brand new week and it also happens to be the ex’s birthday. How time flies. Give him another 2 years and bam! he’s 30 oready. Haha. I guess it’s time once again to plan a day to meet with him for a post-birthday meal.
When I finally got to sleep, it was such a nice long slumber that when I woke up, the skies were dark and I realized it was 9+pm oready. Omg. Had supper with tubs at a Malay coffeeshop nearby which we’ve never been to before and the mee goreng rocks! I think this can be a future supper place should the mood comes.
TUESDAY
Met up with Jane and Chixy for dinner at Parkway and then walked around abit and bought things at Sasa cos they had mad closing down sale. I think they’re not sustaining well at Parkway but I’ll miss it because Parkway really needs more decent shops. All the rubbish shops are still there year after year but shops like Cotton On are downsizing. WTH. Anyway, we went to Watsons and saw something very disgusting. And I was looking high and low for the staff in charge of the make up counters but there was nobody… At the make up section, we saw 2 prostitutes applying their make up from scratch there - free from the testers provided. I guess that saves them a lot of money, coming to Parkway everyday before ‘work’ to slather on a whole load of make up before crossing the road to their work place. I am so sure they are the Roxy/ Paramount girls because the girls there are usually Filipino, have very bad dress sense, and are usually both fat and down right ugly. And a word of caution, next time you visit Parkway, do not try their make up testers. God knows what kinda diseases you’re gonna catch just by doing that. Normal people try testers by putting abit on their hands or something. These girls are a walking advertisement for Revlon, Maybelline and what not lor. Imagine the lipstick you test on your hand has actually been on numerous prostitutes’ lips. And what numerous old men body parts these lips have been to, I do not wanna know. So if one day your hand drops off or develops an itch or grows some cauliflower, you know why right. Gross.
Anyway, after Parkway closed, we went down to the coffeeshop outside Kel’s house for a drink before splitting for the night and for me, it was off to tub’s place.
WEDNESDAY
Met Jes for dinner at Mas Ayu and then to Ikea to get some stuff and she suggested sharing chicken wings and meatballs. I was so full I wanted to kill her. But before that, I was late in picking her up thanks to the mother. The mother who oways leaves the car with no more petrol, and oso the mother who never gets back on time for me to use the car. She was supposed to drop Aunty Soo Fen at the airport and head back. She came back more than an hour later. WTF. Considering the airport is near my place + she’s only dropping off, there’s no way someone can take that long to return. Sometimes she really amazes me.
That’s all for now. Gonna try and get some shut eye now. Will put in photos another time.
