I just realized that I haven’t been updating over here for quite awhile now. Maybe it’s because I’ve been somewhat busy I guess.
And because I’ve let a time lag happen, I am unable to place certain events in order anymore. And that’s even if I can remember what I’ve been up to at all. But let’s try. Haha.
Breko @ Bugis with Mel - Their prices have rocketed & their standards have plummeted. I’m sad it’s no longer how it used to be cos it was somewhere I really enjoyed going to for a drink and some bites. But come to think of it, that was many years ago. Haha.
XDL supper with tubs, Alex & Mel - It used to be too much of a good thing, now it’s just shiokadoo! In fact, I’m oready looking forward to the next XDL session.
Ban Mian with my bitches - Jane got me a t-shirt & a lighter from her BKK trip which I love!

That night, it ended up with us somehow on the topic of the ghostlies again. Why am I not surprised…
Hairdresser’s - Went for a much needed trim and treatment while tubs dyed his hair purple and had treatment as well. Yup! Purple...
National Museum during the Night Festival - We went after sundown and what we didn’t expect was the long queue of people visiting the museum at night. We knew Free Entry + Singaporeans = Mad Crowd, but just not that many people at that time. Anyway, the weather outside was cold due to the rain and the temperature inside the museum was much colder than outside. Thank goodness both of us went prepared with our jackets. We went to the History Gallery and it was pretty interesting I gotta say. There were 2 paths to choose from and we chose the ‘events’ path instead of the ‘personal’ path. We thought that bought paths would lead to the same places but I guess we were wrong. It was only when we were getting out of the museum that we took a look at the map and we realized we had only covered about half of the entire gallery. WTH. But it was too late to go to the other gallery anyways. There was so much to see and listen and walk that by the time we were chased out at 2am, we had more or less walked finished our path but had skipped a lot of the audio description that we could hear from our handheld multimedia device. So I guess for people who wanna walk History Gallery thoroughly, you better go really early. If I’m not wrong, we had spent 3 hours inside.
Post-Museum - Leaving the museum, I had such a pain in my stomach I nearly passed out. I dunno what kind of pain it was, it was just one of the worst pains I’ve ever had. But after a couple of hours or so, I was feeling better so tubs & I met Alex at the coffeeshop. Seeing that it was getting late, we decided to leave and then we saw Marcus and his gf at the coffeeshop. So everyone hung out together somemore til it was later than late. *yawn* On the way home, I had a super strong craving for hotcakes so Macs drive thru it was! Yums~
Jes’s Honeymoon - My dear Jes is finally attached. About time I say! It’s been neither here nor there for so long, and then BOOM! it happened. Haha. I guess that’s what you call a Love Boat. My dear Jes deserves nothing short of a great guy so that better be the case! Haha. But I still can't believe how much she paid for the cruise trip... Insane!
Mudd - After meeting up with Jes for dinner and coffee one evening, I ended up meeting up with Mudd at my place. It’s been a very very long time since I last met up with him and I gotta say his call kinda took me by surprise but it was nice catching up nevertheless. At least I know there’s one more bored person in the east. Haha.
KTV - Had dinner at Mel’s place and boy do I miss good home cooked food. Why can’t the mother cook like Grandma or Aunty Corina? Haha. I don’t need fancy food.. I just need my food to taste right. We were watching 'It's A Small World' during dinner and that episode was damn funny I couldn't take it.. We couldn't stop laughing at the honky guy's mandarin but even though the show is very entertaining, Mark Lee's mandarin is quite bad.. If I can notice the mistakes, it must be that bad. So I really wonder what is the purpose of this show. Anyway after dinner, Mel and I went to pick tubs up from TMCC and then we went to Teo Heng for them to sing their hearts out.
Alexandra, Orchard, Tanjong Pagar, Marina Square - Couldn’t sleep the night before so decided to accompany Jane in the morning to bring her car for servicing. First thing in the morning, my nose was killing me no thanks to all the dust cos I spent the night packing abit of my room, and oso the smell of the concoction the condo’s cleaner was using to mop the floor. It was absolutely toxic man.. After dropping her car off and having some delifrance and milo at the service centre, we headed off to Orchard. Macs breakfast while people watching is quite nice, but that’s if you minus the bad nose + sun. After breakfast, the shopping starts.
I bought something totally redundant. I bought a pig thingy.

The sealed box had shown 6 pigs, and except for the green one, I found the rest to be very cute. So can’t be so sway kena the green one right? I bought it, opened it, and saw the green swine. *sigh*

Zara was having sale and it couldn’t have been a better time to go since weekday afternoons weren’t so crowded and we were near Liat anyways. Managed to buy some clothes which made me very happy. Hur hur. Spent the rest of the day walking and shopping and stopping by Macs for some ice cream and to rest and people watch.
When Jane’s car was ready to collect, I headed down to Tanjong Pagar to look for Mel for our manicure and pedicure session. But they somehow got the appointment wrong and we decided to reschedule. So we cabbed over to Marina Square and the shopping starts once again. Haha. Because Zara carries different clothes at different outlets, I ended up with more shopping. We walked and bought until all the shops had finally closed. By then, tubs had come to look for us so we headed to Dunman for TJZ. The people had heard the order wrongly and made it super spicy for us. It was far too spicy man. Tubs couldn’t take it and I ended up with swollen lips. Haha. When I cleaned my mouth, I actually rubbed my lips off. Fucking painful. And for the next 2 days, my lips were still peeling lah.
That’s about all that I can remember for now. Now for this past weekend.
FridayI can’t remember anything except dinner followed by coffee with tubs at Xin Wang til late. Haha.
SaturdayWent to Far East Plaza with tubs cos he hasn’t been there in ages and keeps condemning the place. I can’t stand stubborn assuming people. Haha. But this time it was weird cos he was the one who suggested going there. After FEP, we headed to Square 2 for Gong Wen’s birthday dinner. But since we were early, we went over to U.d.d.e.r.s for some ice cream.

I had Tiramisu, which I thought was good but too pricy. For $6 a scoop, I can think of many more brands of ice cream to spend that money on. After that we tried looking for the restaurant in vain. Haha. From being early to being late. We walked from building to building until we bumped into Huiting, who was also lost and in the wrong building. Lol. But we finally managed to find it. Phew.
Dinner was at Seoul Yummy. Korean food of cos. I thot the food was pretty alright. But the service was lousy. If it wasn’t Gong Wen’s birthday and if the rest didn’t ask me to let it go, I would have a lot to say to whoever was in charge then.
Firstly, I think staff should have a decent knowledge of English and the menu. Basic necessity. If all I do is read off the menu and point to the picture, how can anybody not get it? Unbelievable.
A set meal comes as a set for a reason. When serving, don’t announce every dish and ask whose it is. Open your damn eyes and see which dish matches whichever is oready on the table. There were so many of us and drink + appetizer + side order + soup + main dish + dessert + blah blah blah. Go figure how many times a conversation has to be interrupted just to help the waiter figure out what is whose.
I cannot stand servers who instead of putting the food on the table, they pass it to you instead. I pay service charge for a reason. If I wanted to take my own food, I would have gone somewhere else. I understand if it was too heavy or too far to reach etc. All you have to do is ask or say nicely. Don’t pass it to the customer like they are supposed to do you that favour.
When our food started coming, a bowl of rice was given to everyone. I didn’t feel like having mine, therefore I pushed mine away. Tubs ate his share and it was during billing when we realized the rice he ate was chargeable. The rest weren’t cos it was included in their set. This is as simple as being a cheat. Charging people for everything you put in front of them and hoping they would consume it, even if it was something they never ordered. It doesn’t make sense cos as long as the order was taken right, people tend to eat whatever is served to them. As long as something is not complimentary, it is only right to tell the customer. When the rice issue was brought up, the waiter could even point tubs out and said ‘but you ate what’. WTF. All he had to say was ‘sorry I am a cock up and a trickster and shouldn’t have tricked you into eating it to make more money for the restaurant’. I would rather he just waive the cost of the price off knowing it was a boo-boo on their part and the customer wasn’t too happy abut it. It’s not even about the money. It’s about morals and about customer service.
We asked for the bill to be split. It could have been done, but somehow it wasn’t. I’ll close one eye if they didn’t know how to do it (even though that shouldn’t even be an acceptable reason). But if I find out it wasn’t done bcos it was too much of a hassle, I would be damn pissed. We did ask the waiter for the manager, but all he could say was that there’s no manager and he’s the one in charge.
I think Seoul Yummy has no ethics, no basic customer service and is absolute bullshit. Maybe I came on a wrong day, but this one time is more than enough for me to condemn the place. Not only will I not only go back there, I’ll let all my friends know not to patronise them either.
But spending time with my lovelies oways makes everything better!

My tubs
After leaving the restaurant, we headed to U.d.d.e.r.s for more ice cream! Haha. Mandy and Gong Wen left for St James after awhile and the rest of us stayed to talk cock. And then it got more and more insane until it was pure laughing madness. People must be thinking which flavour of ice cream we’ve all be having.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEN! Hope you enjoyed the little gathering and I have to say age is definately not catching up with you man. Haha. You still look as young and even prettier than I first met you! I notice that our meet-ups and celebrations are getting more and more simple. But it doesn't mean we're having any less fun. Sometimes quality time spent with each other means so much more! But I still think we should try to meet up more often, ok gang!?
When we finally left, tubs and I headed to join Mel. What a coincidence cos she was at the pub directly below Boozee, which is where Jes frequents weekly and which we’ve been to quite a few times before too. Mel was with Alac, whom I haven’t seen in probably 9 years, whom I got to know through another group of friends. Haha. Called Jes down for a smoke and then it was drinking time. How I miss my beer.. But I guess it’s something I won’t need to miss too much cos Danny boy is coming back very very soon oready and with him around, never fear that there is no beer. Hur hur.
SundayIn the afternoon, tubs and I went to Iluma to watch Ice Age 3 cos it was the only cinema with the best timing. Might as well I guess cos we haven’t been there yet. I quite like the place I gotta say. Not really shopping wise but I like the big open spaces. Cluttered and crowded shopping centers can really drive me mad. Because we were rushing for our movie, we didn’t walk the entire place, other than catching a glimpse as we took the escalator. Ice Age 3 was really funny! After the show, we managed to grab some ice cream from Marble Slab Creamery before heading over to Grandma’s for dinner.

The ice cream was fab. But it was too much. And it spoilt my dinner. Haha.
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, Mel didn’t come over for dinner. We watched abit of Harry Potter on TV and then went to pick Mel up and headed over to our new fave coffeeshop to talk. Something bad happened but I guess at the end of the day, it could have been worse so I guess I’m still abit relieved. I believe some things happen for a reason. Some reasons we’ll never find out until after awhile, some reasons are hard to even understand why. But let’s just take things one step at a time now and see what’s in store. In the meantime, I’ll oways be there for you.
MondayDinner & Pedicure with Mel. I have forsaken my nails for far too long. Now that I’ve got my feet done, I really gotta do my hands too man.. I guess that’ll be settled another day.
TuesdayNot that I stayed awake in hope of catching the solar eclipse, but my insomnia is just such a convenient excuse eh. Anyway it’s raining and raining over here in our sunny island and so there’s nothing to see at all. But it’s quite nice watching it live on channel newsasia. It’s really quite a sight, especially over in India and China. But since the weather is such over here, then I guess that’s it for us experiencing the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century. Oh well..
