Update!
Danny Boy came back on Friday night! Tubs and I went to pick him up from the airport and it’s great to see him again! If I had the time and money, I oso wanna go travel like he does. Haha. I’m getting mouldy staying in Singapore.
Anyway, we went for XDL and I wasn’t in the mood for it and surprisingly, Danny Boy’s appetite has shrunk even though he has put on weight. I think we talked more than eat lah. Mel joined us for awhile before going clubbing, and at that moment, I suddenly missed clubbing. *sigh* Feeling like an old aunty oready. We spent the rest of the night just catching up (yup, no alcohol can you believe it!?!!) and here are some of the goodies!
Danny Boy gave me his 5-yen coin cos apparantly, Go-en (Jap for 5 yen) sounds like 'fate', therefore people keep this coin for good luck.
Because the Marlboro Black at Bali was so good, we got him to buy a slot back for us. Declared and taxes paid for hor! Not only did it end up being more expensive than Singapore ciggies, it tasted a whole lot worse than the Bali ones. Dammit.. I think the Japs really like to smoke paper.. so far all the Jap ciggies I've tried are tasteless and far too light. Which leads me to thinking why they smoke for...
And this was a really nice surprise! Shiroi Koibito chocolate coooookkkiiiiieeeee~ It's damn yummy and it's not hard to see why it's so famous lah. And it comes in a nice tin with cats all over.
It won’t be long before he flies off again. It’s so damn hard trying to catch him. Haha. As much as he isn’t around much, but he seems happy flying everywhere so I guess that’s good for him. Tubs was in hibernation mode on Saturday and I was on MSN chatting with the whole world until I nearly went mad with boredom and I was complaining to Mel how I wanted to go Ion to take a look. She offered to accompany me but I couldn’t possibly leave tubs and run out so I tried waking him up. When I finally woke him up and got ourselves to town to meet Mel, it was evening oready.
Ion was pure madness. Pretty expected… but worse than what I imagined. There was difficulty walking and it totally put us off shopping. So all we did was to do a really speedy walk around the place and bought something to bite on from the food stalls in the basement.
All I can say is that it was far too packed to give the place a fair judgment so I shall attempt to go another day, hopefully on a weekday afternoon. Haha.
Because Ion was so packed and so was Wisma, we headed to Novena for Wee Nam Kee. I know I’m very suaku.. It was my first time there and even though it was good, it wasn’t as fantastic as what I expected since everyone raves about their chicken rice. After that, we popped over to U.d.d.e.r.s and Mel treated us to ice cream! It was shiok but so damn filling. I ended up trading ice cream with Mel cos mine was too creamy. Hur hur.
Dropped Mel off for her Heineken event and then we went to look for Alex for coffee, Macs and Max. The doggy was falling asleep half the time lah. He’s so cute but I still prefer him with really long and shaggy fur.
Sunday, woke up bright and early to go Mandai to visit Grandpa. This time Abi came with her husband (whose name nobody remembers). I can’t be fucked with her. So she was pretty much invisible to me. Not that I wanna be mean, but it was her choice to make things personal. If it wasn’t to visit Grandpa, I may have prayed for her to get shat on by a passing bird or something but well, despite her distinctive walk, talk & dress sense, I managed to keep her out of view so it’s all good. Not that I wish she didn’t turn up, but turn up every time. Don’t act like a prissy empress dowager cos at the end of the day, I believe she owes everything to the family even though she acts the opposite. Urgh. Enough of her. Giving me shivers down my backbone.
And speaking about shivers down my backbone.. While we were at Mandai, there were these monkeys that suddenly came out from nowhere and started feasting on the offerings people had left there. They were quite amusing to watch and everyone started taking pictures of them. I took a couple too and after transferring the photos into my com, in one of the pictures.. I think i saw more than a monkey.. Fab. I don't dare to open the file now and the digi cam is with tubs lah. Haha. I know lah.. Of all places take photos at a crematorium & columbarium.. at exactly where people burn all the offerings somemore.. But I didn't think so much at that point in time k.. I guess all the other people taking pictures didn't think so much either..
Following that was lunch at some Chinese restaurant nearby. Food was alright nia. But I guess there aren’t many good restaurants in the area. Wanted to KTV and since we were gonna go Grandma’s place for dinner in the evening anyways, we decided to go Teo Heng and when we got there, rooms were fully booked. So clever of us. So in the end we went to Leisure park for Kbox. We never ever doubt Kbox’s aircon but since it was such an impromptu decision, we were far from well prepared. Thank god tubs had a jacket in the car which I hogged the entire time there. Haha.
KTV was full of oldie goldies. Haha. From Aaron Kwok’s classic
To Beyond’s anthem.
Left KTV late and to make matters worse, the elevator at Grandma’s wasn’t working cos there was a fire drill going on. The climb nearly killed me. I’m surprised I even managed to make it up. That is how unfit I am. Tsk tsk. I needed recovery time before eating dinner. Lol. It was pork rib prawn mee soup for dinner. Yums! Was damn stuffed after that and it didn’t take long for tubs to fall asleep there. I nearly fell asleep too but managed to keep awake. It was then that I heard news about Massa’s near fatal accident. I really hate such news. It seems like his life is no longer in danger so I guess that‘s something to be thankful about.
After Grandma’s was talk cock session at the kopi shop near Mel’s. Sometimes, it’s a wonder when people decide to show their true colors. But some things better seen earlier than later. Some of our conversations can be downright dumb and redundant, but some are really mind-opening food for thought material. Haha.
Anyhoos, my wisdom tooth is hurting like hell. It’s swollen until one side of my face looks distorted lah. KNN. And I can’t even close my mouth properly. But not like that keeps me away from food. Hahaha. Tried calling the polyclinic and after countless consecutive calls to no avail, I guess I can only call again tomorrow. Anybody wanna donate money to me to go to a private dentist instead? Haha. By the time I get through to somebody on the polyclinic line, to the time I book an appointment, to the time I get referred to somewhere else, to the time the other appointment gets booked, to the time I actually get down to extracting my tooth/ teeth, many moons would have passed and all my teeth would have rotted and dropped on their own by then. It’s mid-week Wednesday today but somehow it feels like a long way more to the weekend. *sigh* By right, I’m supposed to receive a little something in the mail anytime soon and I can’t wait! Anyway, it feels like forever since I last met up with my darling Jes and I finally got to meet her yesterday lah. She’s busy like hell but I’m so proud of her cos if I were her, running on her kinda schedule, I would have gone mad oready. Hopefully everything turns out great for her because she is one of those people who deserves nothing but the best.
I can’t wait to watch Public Enemies!
Or more like I can’t wait to watch Johnny Depp. Hur hur. And after all this time, I am still waiting for Up to open.
I had no idea it’ll take so long to be released here lah. Kao..
